"Gil Mier was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Gil attended Santa Fe High School and enlisted in the United States Army. Gil returned home and graduated from the College of Santa Fe. Gil spent the next 24 years as an Educator at Espanola High School and at Santa Fe High School, as an English teacher. Gil has been a real estate broker for the past 30 years and has assisted numerous individuals in achieving their dreams of home ownership and real estate investments. "Phil Griego grew up in a farming family. He was born in Santa Fe, but his father had a ranch in San Jose, within the San Miguel de Valle land grant. He always had a “feel for the land. I would go with my dad to irrigate, do the things that had to be done.” After attending St. Michaels High School in Santa Fe and the College of Santa Fe, Griego attended law school at Antioch in Washington D.C. Phil returned home and was drawn into public service. Phil ran for a position on the Santa Fe City Council, won, and later, starting in 1985, served as mayor Pro Tem of the City of Santa Fe for about eight years.
